Our academic journal, The Surgeon, produced in partnership with The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, is published by ScienceDirect, an Elsevier company, six times per year.
Since its establishment in 2003, The Surgeon has established itself as one of the leading multidisciplinary surgical titles published for the worldwide surgical and dental communities. Both Colleges see the Journal as an important educational service, and consequently there is a particular focus on post-graduate development.

How to Access The Surgeon Journal Online
Fellows and Members of RCSEd can access The Surgeon journal online via their College account.
- Log in to your RCSEd College Profile using your registered email address.
- If you’ve forgotten your password, request a reset via the website. The College does not store or share password information.
- Once logged in, go to My Profile.
- From the sub-menu, select The Surgeon.
- Click View The Surgeon at the foot of the landing page to access the journal.
